Meet the Host
Don Schlesinger
One of the most highly esteemed blackjack authorities in the world today. His more than 25 years as a blackjack writer, player, teacher, and lecturer have garnered him the respect, trust, and admiration of players on every level from beginner to the most knowledgeable expert. Don's professional vita includes a B.S. in Mathematics, M.A. and M. Phil degrees in French, and careers as a teacher in the New York City school system and as a principal at one of Wall Street's most prestigious investment banks. The passion, wisdom, and selflessness that Don commits to the blackjack community on a daily basis, as a frequent participant on Web sites and valued consultant to blackjack authors and researchers, is unparalleled.

Blackjack Attack: Playing the Pros' Way (3rd ed.) is Don's remarkable contribution to the game and to players worldwide. For many, it remains the unrivaled bible of blackjack. Some of the concepts contained therein, such as the "Illustrious 18," the "Floating Advantage," long-term and trip risk of ruin formulas, the prodigious Chapter 10 "World's Greatest Blackjack Simulation" charts, the innovative SCORE concept, and the groundbreaking optimal departure studies, have become legendary. Ed Thorp called Don "a master teacher and player," while the late Peter Griffin said, "His understanding of the game would outrank that of almost every published expert."

Meet the Masters of Blackjack
George C.
A living legend in the annals of blackjack, George has seen and done it all during almost 40 years of high-stakes blackjack play. The simple fact is, when George C. talks about the game of blackjack, everyone in his right mind listens to his words of wisdom. The author of many monographs and studies on the game, his How to Win $1,000,000 Playing Casino Blackjack, The Ploy, The Unbalanced Zen II, and Shuffle Tracking for Beginners are but a few of the most popular titles from the arsenal of this prolific author and student of the game. George's pioneering research in the area of risk of ruin formulas formed the basis for the formulas featured in Chapter 8 of Blackjack Attack. There are few people in the world today whose involvement in virtually every aspect of the game of blackjack is as extensive as that of George C. The experience he brings to this site is unparalleled.
Cacarulo
"Cacarulo" is the pseudonym of one of the foremost computer analysts and authorities on combinatorial analysis in the industry today. He is regarded as one of our leading experts on the subject of index generation and determination of the precise values of rules variation for all varieties of blackjack games. His tables of expected values for blackjack hands, featured on Richard Reid's www.bjmath.com Web site and in Appendix A of the third edition of Blackjack Attack, are perhaps the most accurate and extensive study ever done on the subject. It was Cacarulo who provided much of the insight that led to the expansion of the "Illustrious 18" indices into the "Catch 22" (see BJA, p. 375), and it's safe to say that when he fires up his vaunted combinatorial analyzer, players take notice!
Karel Janecek
One of the most brilliant blackjack theoreticians and mathematicians in the world today. His magnificent Statistical Blackjack Analyzer (SBA) software was the original, all-purpose simulator, and it has come to be known as the standard against which all other such products are measured. It was Karel's SBA that John Auston used to produce all of the charts in the original Chapter 10 of Blackjack Attack. The online help manual for SBA reads like a treatise on the mathematics of blackjack and contains enough valuable information and studies to be considered a mini-book of its own. Karel has a Masters in mathematics from Charles University, Prague, in his native Czech Republic, and a Ph.D. in mathematics from the world-renowned Carnegie Mellon University. You may visit his Web site at www.sba21.com.
Norm Wattenberger
One of the foremost blackjack software developers in the world today, his line of Casino Vérité products has come to be known as the quintessential tool for analyzing virtually any problem associated with the game of blackjack. The incredible graphics and the realism of the practice modes of CV have received the highest praise from the thousands of satisfied customers who have honed their skills on this magnificent product. Norm has made a great many of his computer studies available free of charge on the Internet, and you will be amazed at the sophistication of his analyses, as you visit his Web site, at www.qfit.com. A consummate programmer, Norm will be a mainstay on our panel, who will provide computer simulations and studies to answer problems, while continuing his stellar, groundbreaking blackjack research.
Zenfighter
“Zenfighter” is the pseudonym of one of the foremost European authorities on blackjack. Before taking up his serious study of the game, Zen was an internationally rated chess player, and in 1987, he was drawn to the mathematical beauty of blackjack after studying the work of the late Peter Griffin, whom he greatly admires. Since that time, Zenfighter has become one of the most valued contributors to Don’s Domain, where he routinely turns out one high-quality piece of research after another, all with his characteristic modesty and incredible quest for accuracy and precision of detail. Most recently, he undertook a complete revision and expansion of Professor Griffin’s famous effects of removal tables, and Zen’s outstanding upgrade of these highly valued charts now graces the pages of the softcover, third edition of Blackjack Attack, in a brand-new appendix. We are honored to have this “renaissance man” with such impeccable credentials as part of our illustrious panel.
