[This is actually in response to Parker's post "PE, BC, etc." on Blackjack Beginners but I didn't want to cause Just Learning any more confusion.]

In fact a system of 10 side counts would have a higher PE than the computer even though it is obviously inferior. This is because Griffin used a linear approximation to calculate PE but a computer can run through all possible card combinations to come up with the exact EVs for each play.
While PE, BC and IC can give you a rough idea of the relative power of different systems, I believe the definitive way is to run a sim and compare the SCOREs.
