Mahoney's Slot Club
Mahoney's Slot Club serves both Opera House and Silver Nugget, which have the same ownership. A card issued at one casino is valid at the other; but points accumulated at one facility are not redeemable at the other. In other words, there are two separate accounts. This, as you might expect, is not carved in stone; your slot points in an Opera House account can be transferred to your account at the Silver Nugget. The transfer, however, will take a special request and approval. Transferring your slot points to Silver Nugget is an appropriate thing to do if there is some item in the Silver Nugget showcase that you wish to obtain with your slot points. Opera House has no selection of items.

Although a slot card issued at Silver Nugget is valid and usable at Opera
House, you can get a slot card directly at Opera House. On doing this, you
will be issued a new card. If you have been using a Silver Nugget slot
card, you will then still have only one account at Opera House.

On inserting your slot card into the reader, you will see your name and current slot point total displayed on the visual. This is then followed by a fresh count.

The reader at Opera House will wish you happy birthday during your birth month.

The points and card never expire.

Scrip: None. Some items are available through the slot club booth at Silver Nugget.
Food: Slot points may be used to obtain food. The redemption rate for food is the same rate of exchange as used to obtain cash. The question then arises as to why you would elect to use slot points to obtain food instead of obtaining cash and simply paying for the food. The reason is that the price of a meal, when paid with cash, would be taxed, effectively raising its cost, while payment made via the use of slot points directly would be untaxed, thus lowering the cost by the 7.5% Las Vegas area tax rate.
