| Caution: The Tropicana is the only casino in the Las Vegas area where I have had my slot benefits confiscated. In my opinion, stolen. The confiscation was done with the approval of the Tropicana management and the knowledge of Aztar Corporation. This is discussed in more detail in another chapter of this book. I mention this here to clarify that if the Tropicana will steal $206 in food comps from me, the casino will certainly steal from you or whomever it wishes. I cannot, in good conscience, write about this slot club without issuing this warning to you, the reader. At this slot club, never accumulate considerable amounts of benefits. You should use the benefits immediately. This is one of the most secretive slot clubs in the Las Vegas area. It is not that the personnel are not cooperative but rather that they often simply don't have the answers to technical questions. The slot club/promotion desk distributes a funbook (a sheet of paper). On inserting your slot card into a functioning reader of a machine, you will be able to read the word ACCEPTED. Your name will not appear and no countdown figure will appear. The club does not use points in its system. Slot play will generate two forms of benefit: cash and comps. The two items are both described in terms of dollars, but are not interchangeable. Comps must be used or else be forfeited. Slot play will generate these two benefits in a manner such that the cash portion will be accumulated at twice the rate of the comp portion. Beyond that, the rate of accumulation of slot benefits is known to be variable by machine, possibly whimsical, and definitely unknown. The card expires with two years of inactivity. |

| Food: | Comp dollars may be used at any of the restaurants. It is suggested that you examine the particular restaurant's menu, selecting the items of which you wish to partake. Using the values of the items, one can then determine how many comp dollars to receive at the slot booth in order to pay for the food.
